London's Docklands, on the Isle of Dogs, are home to the complex of office buildings known as Canary Wharf. The new Canary Wharf business district now competes with the historically powerful finance centre in the City of London. For example, the financial institutes of Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse and the Bank of America have established themselves here.
London's skyline is changing rapidly as a result of the construction of a large number of new high-rise buildings in Canary Wharf. At the moment, three of the tallest buildings in Great Britain are situated in Canary Wharf and there are plans for dozens more.
